The Citizen Lobbyist: A How-to Manual for Making Your Voice Heard in Government by Amanda Knief
My rating: 5 of 5 stars
Very concise and very practical advice about how to make the government work for you. Lobbying is a business, and even if you're doing it out of the goodness of your heart or a deep need to make the world a better place it still takes a commitment of time and resources. You might as well do it right to avoid wasting each of them.
The writing is spare and upbeat. this is a lean book. That's good, because this is one you want to keep on your Kindle, along with Alinsky's Rules for radicals as you start to make your way through the corridors of power.
Take it from me,advocating for something you believe in is not easy, but it can be extremely rewarding. It never pays to keep quiet, that just lets the loud obnoxious people go unchallenged.
