Fatale, Volume 2: The Devil's BusinessFatale, Volume 2: The Devil's Business by Ed Brubaker
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

I may have made a mistake reading these two volumes back to back, because now I'm months away from the third volume, and possibly years away from the conclusion of the series. It's very good and very addictive.

This novel picks up in 1973, in Hollywood. Years have passed since the last novel, and Jo has been in hiding. Her enemy, best described as some sort of servant of dark, Lovecraftian Gods, and reincarnated at the end of the last book, is still searching for her. Due to circumstances best left to actually reading the book, Jo has to come out of hiding and bring the fight to her enemies. The fact that Jo has the uncanny ability to make men do whatever she wants, helps in this regard.

The book is dark, violent and though Brubaker takes his time revealing the various mysteries in the book, ultimately satisfying in its delivery.
